New stat proves Georgia football is a blue blood

Every Georgia football fan knows just how great the Bulldogs program is. However, not every college football fan around the country agrees.

No one will deny that Kirby Smart and Georgia have been one of the best programs if not the very best in recent years, but some might question if they deserve that status when looking at their programs entire history. However, a social media page released some rankings that went viral on Tuesday, and these rankings showed that Georgia is one of the best programs not just recently, but all time.

Most wins in last 25 years

The first stat that circulated social media on Tuesday was a ranking of the programs with the most wins in the past 25 years. Likely no one will be surprised to find out that Georgia made the top 20 on this list, but it is a little surprising that the Bulldogs are No. 1 in the SEC.

Sure Oklahoma has two more wins than Georgia in this timeframe, but they did all that damage in the Big 12 so they shouldn't really be considered an SEC team in this ranking.

The reason this stat is so surprising is because everyone (myslef included) probably assumed Alabama would have the most wins in the SEC. Instead it's Georgia who actually had 19 more wins than the Tide which is really quite surprising.

But there is another stat this same page released on Tuesday that shows Georgia has not been one of the best programs this century, but one of the best programs of all time.

Greatest stat of all

This social media page released the top 20 programs in total wins for a large amount of timeframes. This includes five years, 10 years, 25 years, 50 years, 100 years and all time. And in those six timeframes, Georgia was one of just three programs (Alabama and Ohio State) to make the top 10 in each list.

So the next time someone tries to argue that Georgia isn't a blue blood, send them this post, because the Bulldogs 100 percent deserve to always be regarded as one of the greatest programs of all time.
