The 2025 NFL Draft may seem like a long time from now still, but these next few months are going to go by very quickly. While the NFL Draft doesn’t necessarily involve Georgia directly, it is always fun to watch because Georgia football routinely has some of the most players drafted out of any school in the country.

This year’s draft will not be any different. Sure Kirby Smart’s squad probably won’t surpass the NFL Draft record for most selections from the same school when UGA had 15 players selected in the 2022 Draft. However, there is another record that Georgia could set later this summer.

But before we get into that record, let’s share the three Georgia players who will set this record based on the recent mock draft from ESPN’s NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr.

Three Georgia defenders Mel Kiper mentioned

Linebacker Mykel Williams - No. 7 Overall

Linebacker Jalon Walker - No. 8 Overall

Safety Malaki Starks - No. 13 Overall

What record would this set?

As mentioned, Georgia is used to setting records and having phenomenal showings at the NFL Draft every season. But if these three selections come true, then Georgia would accomplish something for the very first time. And that is having three defenders from the same school drafted this high in the same draft.

While it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Georgia pull this off because of how great their defense was this past season, the surprising thing is that Georgia hasn’t accomplished this sooner. Most would agree that Georgia’s defense was even better the last few years than it was this past season, but even those defenses couldn’t accomplish this feat.

Georgia will have to wait a few months to see if they set this record or not, but based on how talented these players are no one should be surprised if they do.
