The NFL Combine is officially upon us which means the NFL Draft is right around the corner. This is one of the most exciting times every year because Georgia fans get to celebrate the countless Bulldogs that are seeing their biggest dream turn into reality.
Georgia once again will be one of the teams with the most players selected in this year's NFL Draft. A lot of that has to do with the job Kirby Smart and his staff have done in preparing them for this moment, which is something Atlanta Falcons GM Ian Cunningham explained to perfection
"They're usually pro ready," Cunningham said via si.com. "What Coach Smart has done there is really impressive. It's not surprising based off of his experience at Alabama under Coach Saban. But those guys are pro ready. They've been coached hard, they're smart they're discipline and they're tough mentally and physically."Â
NFL GM believes Georgia's players are "pro ready"
The best compliment a college coaching staff can receive is that their players are ready when they reach the NFL. That isn't always the case even with players selected in the early rounds of the draft as it can take a few years before guys are actually ready for the next level. But Cunningham believes that Georgia players are always ready to contribute the second they get to the league.
Comments like this should help Georgia on the recruiting trail. Every recruit dreams of playing in the NFL, so why wouldn't they want to come to a place that prepares them for the NFL as well as Georgia does?
This also wasn't the only comment the Atlanta Falcons have made about Georgia heading into the NFL Combine. The Falcons also discussed how Smart instills a level of toughness in his players that make them very desirable to draft.
This once again is a great compliment for Smart and Georgia to receive, but all of those things make it seem like Atlanta is getting ready to select another Bulldog in this year's draft. And that is the one thing Georgia fans have been begging to see happen for years.
