Georgia football has a lot to be excited about heading into the NFL Draft later this summer. That isn't anything new for Georgia football fans especially in the past decade or so, but this year there are some new things to be excited about.
For starters, an NFL Draft expert is projecting Georgia to set a new record during the first round of this summer's draft. And one of those players who would be a part of that record is defensive back Malaki Starks.
Starks is one of the most impressive players to come out of Georgia's secondary in recent years if not in the history of the program. While that may seem like a wild claim and extremely biased coming from a Georgia fan, this is something NFL scouts who are completely unbiased are saying about Starks as well.
NFL Scouts are in love with Starks
Obviously no one knows where Starks will be drafted until draft night arrives, but based on the comments shared above by some NFL scouts, Starks won't have to wait very long to hear his name called.
NFL scouts have made two impressive claims about Starks, but based on the player he is it really isn't all the surprising. Scouts are saying that he is the "best DB to come out of Georgia" and that he could be the first safety drafted in the top 10 of the NFL Draft since 2017.
Starks is someone who could have returned for another season at Georgia if he wanted, and this is something every UGA fan was secretly hoping would occur. But knowing how talented Starks is and seeing these comments from NFL scouts, the decision for him to turn pro is clearly the right decision.
Starks will be fun to follow throughout the NFL Draft process, and it's going to be really exciting on draft night to see how high he is selected in the first round.
