Georgia's NIL strategy has been seriously doubted over the past few years. Those doubts have recently reached an all time high as the Bulldogs 2027 recruiting class currently sits outside the top 10 which is something that just never happens under Kirby Smart.
Smart has remained steadfast that he will not buy recruits. Even if that means Georgia's recruiting classes will suffer a bit in the rankings, he wants players to come to Georgia because of the culture he has built. And once they are here and earn it on the field then he will reward them with NIL money.
Many fans across the country question if this is the right strategy, but no one will be questioning that today as six Bulldogs just inked new NIL deals with Nike who is one of the biggest sports brands in the world.

Nike proves that anyone at Georgia can earn major NIL money
Wide receiver Talyn Taylor, tight ends Elyiss Williams and Kaiden Prothro, linebacker Chris Cole and defensive backs KJ Bolden and Ellis Robinson were the six Bulldogs to sign this new NIL deal with Nike. The amount of their deals was not shared publicly, but for Georgia that doesn't really matter.
Nike signing these six players is extremely significant because it proves Smart's NIL strategy is effective. These six players are all expected to be some of the better players on their team this season, and since they've already proven how good they are, at a big name school like Georgia nonetheless, Nike felt the need to attach themselves to each player.
This announcement should help Smart pitch future recruits even more. It's one thing to tell recruits they can make big money in their careers if they come to Georgia, but it's a completely different thing to have real examples to show them.
Smart now has six examples that he can show recruits to illustrate what is possible if they come to Georgia, and now the hope is that this will lead to some more great players giving Georgia a chance and coming to Athens for their college career.
New Nike NIL deal included 5-star TE commit Jaxon Dollar as well
Not only were these six Bulldogs included in this NIL deal, but so too was five-star tight end commit Jaxon Dollar. He was one of just 11 current high school players to be included in this NIL announcement.
Dollar is one of just two five-stars currently committed to Georgia's 2027 recruiting class, but according to 247Sports he was included in this deal because of his "standout performance at the Opening Finals."
So not only are current Georgia football players able to rack up NIL dollars from major brands like Nike, but so too are their high school commits. That just goes to show that having the Georgia "G" next to your name makes a player infinitely more marketable, and in today's day and age that is just as important to a lot of players as their on field performance.
