The No. 1 recruit in the country has Bulldog written all over him.

Recruiting can be such a weird thing in college football. All that truly takes place in recruiting is coaches building relationships with recruits so they can sell their program to them. With that being the case, this leads many program to stretch the truth about what their program has truly accomplished.

And it's hard to blame programs for doing that because they are all just trying to get as many elite players as possible, so if they have to lie to do that every program in the country likely will.

But Georgia football is one of the few programs who doesn't have to lie. And if you don't believe me, take it from the No. 1 recruit in the country.

"Every school will talk up their program a bit, but Georgia can actually back up what they're saying and put it in front of you."

5-star EDGE Ladamion Guyton

This is about as great of a quote as you could ever expect to receive from a recruit. And it just so happens that the No. 1 recruit in the 2027 class is the one who made this claim.

That recruit is Ladamion Guyton, who is a five-star EDGE according to On3. Guyton is not only the No. 1 player from his home state of Georgia, but he is also the No. 1 EDGE in the country and the No. 1 overall player in the country in the 2027 class according to On3.

Guyton being in the 2027 class means that his recruitment still has a long ways to go. But as it stands right now, Georgia may be the leader in his recruitment. This quote from Guyton shows that UGA definitely is one of the top schools in his recruitment, but 247Sports also has an official prediction logged in favor of Georgia to win this recruitment as well.

Guyton still has about two years remaining in his recruitment, so anything can happen at this point. But it is more than clear that Georgia is one of his top schools right now, so hopefully Kirby Smart and his staff can keep it that way.
