Georgia football is absolutely rolling Alabama in the SEC Championship game. The Bulldogs have dominated the Crimson Tide in every facet of the game from the opening kickoff, and there hasn’t been anything Alabama could do about it.

While everything is going right for Georgia, fans noticed late in the first half that wide receiver Noah Thomas has not played in this game yet. He was not listed on Georgia’s injury reports throughout the week, so he was expected to be a big piece of their offense. But word has come out that Thomas is dressed and on the sideline, but he picked up an injury during warmups that is keeping him out of this game.

Noah Thomas injury strikes at the worst possible time

The injury bug has really begun to creep on Georgia entering postseason play. Most notably was the injury to starting center Drew Bobo that talking heads across college football thought would really hurt Georgia’s offense. The Bulldogs however were able to overcome that injury, but they also had to unexpectedly overcome this injury to Thomas as well.

Georgia’s wide receivers thankfully had no issues making up for Thomas’s absence against Alabama. They have unsurprisingly been led by Zachariah Branch, but Dillon Bell has made multiple big plays as well. Tight end London Humphreys and even running back Roderick Robinson have made big impacts in the passing game as well.

The severity of Thomas’s injury is still unknown, but Kirby Smart will likely speak to that at some point after the game. But Thomas more than likely picked up a small injury in warmups that they didn’t want to risk making worse. So he hopefully will make a full recovery before Georgia’s first game in the College Football Playoff which will come on Dec. 31 or Jan. 1.
