Another day unfortunately means more arrests for the Georgia football program. In what has become far too common of an occurrence over the past few years, two Bulldogs were arressted for speeding related incidents late Wednesday night.

Social media exploded when word came out about these arressts on Thursday. It's hard for Georgia fans to see so many people openly talk bad about the football program, but after all of the arressts throughout the years the negative discourse from the college football world is deserved.

But some people took things too far, and the below social media post highlighting an old Steve Spurrier quote was one of the biggest examples of that.

Old Steve Spurrier quote highlights a big problem Georgia is still dealing with today

Spurrier was the head coach at South Carolina from 2005-2015. During that time he led the Gaecocks to some of their best seasons of all time as they won 11 games three years in a row from 2011-2013 where they finished as high as No. 4 in the final AP Poll rankings.

South Caroline also played Georgia really tough during his tenure, so much so that UGA only had a 6-5 recrod against Spurrier during his time with the Gamecocks. Apparently a slightly less than .500 record is good enough to talk down about Georgia though because Spurrier layed the hammer 14 years ago about facing Georgia with suspended players every year.

Spurrier shared the above quote after they no longer played Georgia during week two every season. He apparently loved facing Georgia that early in the season because "you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended."

That is a ridiculous thing for a head coach to say, especially when he lost to Georgia all the time. But when a program has earned the reputation that Georgia has, quotes like this are going to resurface every so often and UGA just has to do just deal with it until something changes.
