The first year of the 12-team College Football Playoff did not treat Georgia football very well. Yes UGA won the SEC which earned them the 2-seed and a first round bye, but Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs did not use that bye to their advantage as they lost their quarterfinal matchup to Notre Dame.

Heading into the 2025 season now, Georgia's goals remain the same as they've always been. Win the SEC, make the CFP and make a run at the National Championship. Winning the SEC and a National Championship will always be difficult tasks to accomplish, but making the College Football Playoff in the 12-team playoff era is a requirement or else the season was a complete failure. So will Georgia be able to get back to the playoff in 2025?

On3 recently shared their 12-team prediction, and they do see the Bulldogs getting back to the CFP next year.

On3 puts Georgia comfortably in the CFP field

According to On3, Georgia will make the College Football Playoff field next season as the 7-seed. This unfortunately means that UGA would not win the SEC as the Texas Longhorns are the overall No. 1 seed according to On3. In fact, this prediction likely means that Georgia lost to the Longhorns in the SEC title game.

This projection means that Georgia would have to play in the first round of the CFP this season, which is something they didn't have to do last season. The good news for UGA is that they would would get a home game in Athens for their first round game against 10-seed Illinois. If the Bulldogs win that game they would then go on to play 3-seed Clemson in the CFP quarterfinals. All things considered, Geogia would have to love thier chances to make the semifinals with this draw.

It will be interesting to see how this actually plays out next season, but this outcome would be just fine for Georgia.
