The College Football Playoff is right around the corner, and Georgia is hoping to find themselves in the 12-team field at the end of the season. Currently Georgia is comfortably in the field as the No. 5 overall seed, but with four more weeks left until the final bracket is revealed anything is still possible.
Georgia however should have nothing to worry about when it comes to making the playoff, so it makes more sense for UGA to wonder who their first opponent in the playoff will be. This can be a hard thing to predict since there are four weeks left in the season, but On3 just predicted the most intriguing first round matchup possible for Georgia.

Georgia Tech may be the least hated rival by UGA fans, but a playoff matchup against the Yellow Jackets would be must see TV. This is especially the case because it would be the second time Georgia and Tech play each other as they will matchup the day after Thanksgiving for their season finale’s this season.
The above prediction has Georgia Tech making the playoff field as the ACC Champion, so this implies that Georgia will win the first matchup against Tech in three weeks. This then means Georgia would get to host Georgia Tech for this first round matchup which would immediately turn into one of the biggest games in Sanford Stadium history.
Both Georgia and Georgia Tech have some work to just to make the playoff field, but playing the Yellow Jackets twice within three weeks sounds like an amazing opportunity everyone in Athens should sign up for.
