This might be a wild claim to make, but Georgia football needs to have a bounce back season in 2025. Sure Georgia won the 2024 SEC Championship after having the most difficult schedule in the country, but the Bulldogs never threatened to win a National Championship as they flamed out of the College Football Playoff without even winning one game.

So the hope heading into 2025 is that UGA will compete for an SEC title again while also making a run at a National Championship in the CFP.

However, based on On3's latest College Football Playoff prediction, Georgia fans might end up being very disappointed with the 2025 season.

Georgia predicted to fall short in the CFP again

The first thing that jumps out in the above prediction is that Georgia once again loses in the quarterfinals of the CFP. Granted this loss would be to an elite Ohio State team, but failing to reach the semifinals for the third year in a row would be a disappointment.

On top of that, the Bulldogs also aren't predicted to win the SEC Championship as Texas is the SEC team in the top four and the predicted champion of the conference. Also considering that Georgia is the next highest seeded SEC team, it looks like On3 is predicting Georgia to lose to the Longhorns in the SEC title game.

The only good news in this prediction for Georgia is that they get to host and win a first round CFP game in Sanford Stadium. This may feel like a consolation prize, but hosting and winning Georgia's first home playoff game would be an amazing memory.

But hopefully this prediction does not come true, because this result would not be good enough for Georgia. And after two straight seasons of not making the CFP semifinals, that is most certainly the expectation heading into the 2025 season.
