Georgia sent 10 players to the NFL Combine this week with many expecting to really show off their game in front of the NFL world. All 10 players had high expectations entering the combine, but it was the skill position players who fans were most excited to see perform.

But offensive lineman Monroe Freeling stole the show and potentially cemented himself as an early first round draft pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

Georgia OT Monroe Freeling dominated the NFL Combine

Freeling began in his NFL Combine journey by cracking some jokes with the media. Offensive linemen really don't get much of a chance to show off their true personalities, so it was awesome to see him joke about what it was like to play for Kirby Smart.

Fast forward one day to when he took the field and Freeling immediately shined brighter than any other offensive line prospect. Typically it would make sense to point out one or two categories he did well in, but Freeling dominated every statistical category the combine measures. This includes the 40-yard dash (4.93 seconds), vertical (33.5 inches) and all of his body measurements.

It can be a little difficult to understand what scores are good at the combine. A lot of it depends on the position they play because while his 40-yard dash time is really good, that time for a running back or wide receiver would be a disaster. Thankfully there is this thing called a RAS score which gives a score out of 10 to describe how the player measured at their position.

So what was Freeling's score? A 9.99.

Freeling was already viewed as a first round draft pick, but his performance took him even higher than that as he outperformed the other top offensive tackles at the combine. So there now is a great chance he is the first tackle taken at the NFL Draft later this summer.
