The NFL Draft is quickly approaching as the Combine is already here and dominating the football scene. Georgia once again projects to be one of the programs with the most players drafted this year, and because of all of their past success it isn’t surprising for anyone to see that.

But even knowing that there are always a couple Bulldogs that are overlooked when they declare for the draft. One NFL Draft expert specifically called out tight end Oscar Delp as being one of the most “criminally underrated” prospects in the entire NFL Draft.

Oscar Delp deserves more NFL Draft hype

Delp came to Georgia as the No. 1 tight end in the country. However, looking at his stats alone would make it seem like he never lived up to those expectations.

Delp didn't do much during his true freshman season as he only recorded five receptions for 61 yards and one touchdown. He however quickly improved on that as a sophomore as he tallied 24 receptions for 284 yards and three touchdowns. Those are solid stats for his second season in college, but the unfortunate thing is that his final two seasons didn't see any drastic improvement statistically.

That is probably why he is being overlooked, but any team overlooking him is making a big mistake.

The biggest reason why is because he does so many things well that don't show up on the stat sheet. This includes being a great teammate and being an elite blocker when needed. So combining those attributes with the skills he has shown on the field show that he should be someone being talked about more.

Who knows where Delp will be drafted later this summer, but some team will take a chance on him. And that team will be thankful they did after he immediately makes their organization much better.
