Georgia football's matchup against Ole Miss next Saturday is the most important game left on their schedule. The Rebels are the only ranked SEC opponent remaining on Georgia's schedule, and they currently are the No. 4 team in the country and 6-0 this season.

This is a game Georgia must win if they are going to make it to Atlanta to play for an SEC Championship. That can be a concerning thing to read after seeing how great of a season Ole Miss is having so far this year, but their game against Washington State on Saturday shows that this matchup for Georgia may not be as challenging as it once looked.

The Georgia football team should feel much better about its most difficult game

Ole Miss welcomed Washington State to Oxford Saturday afternoon. The Rebels were predicted to win by 33 points, and all week it seemed like they most certainly could win by that much. But then the game began and everything went sideways for the Rebels.

Washington State jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but the Rebels responded and took a 10-7 lead into halftime. The Cougars didn't go down without a fight though as they scored on the first possession of the second half to take a 14-10 lead. Ole Miss then took control of the game from there by scoring two straight touchdowns, but Washington State scored once more themselves to keep the pressure on Ole Miss.

The Rebels however were able to hold on and win 24-21 to move to 6-0 on the season. But a three point win after being favored by nearly five touchdowns will not strike fear into anyone at Georgia.

Saturday's game against Ole Miss will still be extremely challenging, but after this result on Saturday UGA fans can afford to breathe a little easier.

Kickoff between Georgia and Ole Miss is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 pm EST and ESPN's College GameDay will be in town to take in this game.
