The final few weeks are shaping up to be one of the most electric finishes in SEC history. There are about six teams who still stand a realistic shot to making the SEC Championship game, and it’s anyone’s guess who will end up getting there.

Georgia however has a great shot to get to Atlanta thanks in large part to their recent win over Ole Miss. But even though Georgia beat the Rebels already this season, UGA should hope they don’t have to play them again.

Georgia should hope they don’t have to play Ole Miss again

Last week Georgia was able to defeat No. 5 Ole Miss 43-35 at home. This was the first loss of the season for the Rebels, so Ole Miss still has everything to play for this season. And after their win at Oklahoma on Saturday, they still have a great chance at making the College Football Playoff and SEC Championship game.

Georgia however also has a great chance to make both as well, and if they do they better hope Ole Miss isn’t sitting there waiting for them.

It took a perfect performance from Georgia’s offense last week to beat Ole Miss. Would UGA be able to do that again if they played the Rebels for a second time? Maybe, but it’s unlikely that Georgia’s offense would be that great after some of the poor performances they’ve had this season.

The Ole Miss offense on the other hand would likely score around 35 points again. Georgia’s defense hasn’t been great this year, and the Rebels offense has been one of the best in the country, so they more than likely would score a lot of points again.

It may be a long shot still for these teams to play again, but there is a chance Georgia could see Ole Miss in the SEC title game or in the CFP later this season, but UGA should hope that doesn’t happen. Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin proved they could beat Georgia last year and they almost won in Athens this year, so they most certainly could knock off Georgia if they play again.
