Saturday night in Jordan-Hare Stadium was all about Cam Newton, until it wasn't. The former Auburn quarterback had his jersey retired during halftime of Saturday's game, and at the time everything was going Auburn's way in the game. But then the Bulldogs finally woke up and ruined Newton's night by completing their comeback and winning 20-10.
This put a major damper on his celebrations which makes Georgia's win that much better, but there was one play that took things to another level. Tight end Oscar Delp decided to take things into his own hand and took the opportunity to troll Newton after Georgia sealed their victory on Gunner Stockton's late touchdown run.
Oscar Delp trolls Cam Newton in best way possible
In the above play Stockton is seen faking the handoff and scoring a touchdown from 10 yards out. Stockton flew through the air similarly to one of Newton's famous plays in an Auburn uniform, but that was unintentional. But it was Delp's celebration in the end zone that undoubtedly had to be planned out.
Newton's patented celebration is his Superman pose. He essentially pretends to be Superman whenever he makes a big play by acting like he is ripping off his jersey at his chest. And that celebration is exactly what Delp did when he went to congratulate Stockton on his touchdown.
At the end of the day the only thing that truly matters is Georgia winning this game. But it is quite enjoyable to watch Georgia troll an Auburn legend like Newton along the way.
Who knows if Newton noticed this celebration or not, but Georgia football fans can sit back and enjoy this moment because they were able to ruin what could have been one of greatest nights in Newton's career and Auburn football history.
