While everyone is waiting for Georgia football's game against Alabama this weekend, Kirby Smart and his staff have been making some big moves on the recruiting trail. The Bulldogs are after a few recruits right now, but overall their 2026 recruiting class is pretty much set in stone. However, there is a new offensive tackle Georgia has their eyes set on.
Three-star offensive tackle Jared Doughty recently announced his top six schools which included Georgia, and the Bulldogs are going to get the first crack at him this weekend as they host him on a visit during the Alabama game.
Promising Peach State 2026 OT who will be in Athens on Saturday. His stock has skyrocketed on the recruiting trail over the last two months.

He committed to Georgia State over the summer, but recently reopened his process. He has a much tougher recruiting journey up ahead. https://t.co/83Me8ab4pq
3-star Peach State OT is giving Georgia some love
Doughty is not ranked very high on the 247Sports composite rankings. Overall he is the No. 913 player in the country and the No. 76 offensive tackle. He also barely cracks the top 100 players from the state of Georgia sitting at No. 96.
Doughty however is due for a massive rankings bump, and it's easy to see why based on his top six schools. As mentioned, Georgia is one of his six finalists, but Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Kentucky also made the cut as well. Would these schools go after a recruit who's barely inside the top 1,000? Likely not, so a big increase is likely on the horizon.
Doughty had been committed to Georgia State this summer, but after these big schools came knocking he immediately opened his recruitment back up to find a new home.
The Bulldogs will host Doughty this weekend in what could be the biggest game in all of college football this regular season. Since he is from the Peach State there is a great chance Georgia could end his recruitment this weekend, but fans will have to wait and see what happens.
Either way this is a recruitment to follow very closely because Georgia is in the middle of a heated battle with some of the best programs in the country for Doughty's services.
