The NFL season just came to an end after the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl about two weeks ago. There were so many takeaways from the Super Bowl this season, but the takeaway that Georgia football fans are running with the most is that good things happen when an NFL organization drafts former Georgia Bulldogs.
The Eagles had six Bulldogs on their roster this season, with many of them being the leaders of the Eagles' defense. This group had such an impact on the team that Eagles' QB Jalen Hurts gave them all a shoutout in the buildup to the Super Bowl.
So the Eagles proved this season that the bluepint to win a Super Bowl potentially involves getting as many Bulldogs on your roster as possible. And if that is the case, then the Eagles would be wise to continue drafting Bulldogs, which is exactly what the latest NFL Mock Draft from expert Daniel Jeremiah indicates will happen.
Malaki Starks to the Eagles
In his latest mock draft, Jeremiah has Georgia defensive back Malaki Starks going to the Eagles with the final pick of the first round. While it would be fun to see Starks land with the Eagles, it is very unlikely to happen because many other NFL Draft experts expect Starks to be selected much earlier in the draft. But it would be quite funny if he did fall to No. 32 so Philly could take him.
Starks is coming off an impressive third season in Athens where he recorded 77 tackles, three pass deflections and one interception. Starks proved this past season that he is a force to be reckoned with, so whchever team ends up drafting him later this spring should be ecstatic with their pick.
The NFL Draft begins April 24, so UGA fans won't have to wait much longer to see where Starks and every other Bulldog will be heading to begin their NFL careers. But it would be quite fun to see Philadelphia select another Bulldog after this past season, so hopefully that is what happens.
