Georgia couldn’t have gotten off to a better start to the 2024 season. The Bulldogs have strengthened their case as the No. 1 team in the country with a 34-3 win over Clemson in Week 1 and a 48-3 win over Tennessee Tech in the team’s home opener in Week 2.

Now, emboldened by those big wins, head coach Kirby Smart’s team will head up to Lexington, Kentucky for its SEC opener against a Wildcats team that is already 0-1 in conference play and 1-1 overall. Last week, former Georgia quarterback Brock Vandagriff had a wretched start to SEC play at Kentucky, going 3/10 for 30 yards with an interception in his team’s 31-6 loss to South Carolina. Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops even benched Vandagriff, the former Georgia five-star recruit for Rutgers transfer Gavin Wimsatt.

Georgia’s Week 1 demolition of Clemson was a nationwide affair, the featured game on ABC with a Noon kickoff, and Week 3 could be even more impressive with an even bigger audience. Georgia and Kentucky will be the ABC primetime game with a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Kroger Field in Lexington.

The ESPN College Gameday crew will be in Columbia South Carolina for the Gamecock’s matchup with the No. 16 LSU Tigers and so will ESPN’s No. 1 broadcasting crew of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, and Holly Rowe. That crew typically handles the ABC/ESPN primetime game but will be on the call for the Noon kickoff in Columbia
