Some more great news has come for Georgia Football on the eve of national signing day. The Dawgs have landed the #1 wideout in the transfer portal, London Humphreys

Humphreys, a rising sophomore, played his freshman year at Vanderbilt. The 6-3 183-pound wideout is impressive in stature, but he also put up some great numbers this season.

Humphreys caught 22 catches and scored 439 yards and four touchdowns in his freshman year for Vanderbilt. Most Georgia fans will remember Humphreys for his sole touchdown against the Dawgs in 2023.

Humpherys is out of Nashville and played high school football at Christ Presbyterian Academy. Humpherys was only a three-star recruit out of high school, possibly from his short time playing the sport.

Humpherys did not start playing football until his junior year; his main sport before football was track and field. Both his parents were track athletes. His father was an All-American pole vaulter at Auburn, and his mother was an All-American decathlete at South Carolina.

Georgia is getting someone who has just scratched the surface of their football potential. The Dawgs also got another weapon for Carson Beck to throw to.

The Dawgs are looking for one wideout to add from the portal. Georgia has brought in some wideouts for on-campus visits. Humphreys was one of those wideouts. From what everyone in the football scouting world is saying, the Dawgs got themselves a great wide receiver, someone with NFL potential.

With Rara Thomas, Dillion Bell, and Dominic Lovett all coming back next year for certain, the addition of Humpherys could make this wide-out core a dangerous group. There are talks about Ladd McConkey and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint possibly returning for another year.

Could you imagine a world where that happens for the Dawgs, but also, to go along with that wide-out core are all those 5-star tight ends they have? Plus, it looks like the Dawgs will get Trevor Etienne from the portal. This offense could be special in 2024. It all starts with the addition of Humpherys.
