Georgia Football is a clear favorite for national title and there is one reason why

It is the dead of winter for the state of Georgia and the Georgia Football program. The Dawgs football team just started their winter workouts, i.e., running and lifting. We still need to find out who will come to the time via the transfer portal or who is leaving. There are still questions on who will be the starters or who will have significant playing time when the Dawgs take on Clemson on August 31, 2024.

This is what the causal call the offseason. But as we all know, there is no “off” in the college football calendar. It has slowed down quite a bit, but it will pick right back up in a month or so. Last summer, right before the 2023 season was about to kick off, I wrote about this time of year. I wrote about how winning a national title should be the goal because what will we do in the depths of January and February?

The Dawgs fell 3 points short of a possible three-peat, and here we all are, sitting in the late January cold. But there is hope that this upcoming season, the Dawgs can do what they have done before: win a national title. Look at the talent on this team as of right now and tell me that Georgia is not one of the most talented teams in the country. You can’t! The Dawgs are probably the most talented team in the country. Vegas still has them favored to win the title in 2024.

Before I go any further, I will give Georgia fans a warning. The national media is already starting to fall in love with Ohio State. Look, the Buckeyes have brought in a ton of talent via Transfer Portal and had a great “off”-season when Jim Harbaugh decided to go to the Chargers and leave Michigan. The media believes the Big Ten is Ohio State and nobody else's. Well, I am here to tell you to watch out for Oregon. Watch them win the Big Ten.

We will all hear about the “dream matchup” between Georgia and Ohio State for the title in 2024. I am not convinced that Ohio State would be their foe if Georgia were to get there. I am just not sold yet on the Buckeyes. But I am sold on the Dawgs.

Georgia will have one of the best offenses in the country and will have, once again, a top 5 defense. Also, with Saban gone, that tough schedule looks easier. As Georgia fans, we are in store for a special season. I am talking about the type of special season we experienced in 2021.

So, when spring ball starts, and the media starts talking about Georgia’s perceived weakness, ignore it. This team is loaded with talent; to me, this is Kirby Smart's best team at Georgia. I also believe that this team has the clearest path to a title. So until otherwise, I am fully expecting a national title, and so should you! What else is there to daydream about in February?
