Georgia football’s remaining 2025 five-star recruiting targets

The Georgia Bulldogs have already landed three five-star commits in 2025 but there could be more on the way for Kirby Smart and his coaching staff.

With last week’s edition of edge rusher Isaiah Gibson, Georgia now has three five-star commits in the Class of 2025. Kirby Smart and his staff have amassed a 17-player class that ranks No. 3 in the country only behind Ohio State and Alabama, but the Dawgs are far from done.

In this summer’s official visit window, nine five-star recruits took trips to Athens and six remain uncommitted to UGA or any other school. The other three, Gibson, tight end Elyiss Williams, and linebacker Zayden Walker have all announced their intention to join Smart’s program. That’s not just a fantastic hit rate for five-stars coming on visits, but it’s great news for the prospect of nabbing a few more blue-chippers in the 2025 recruiting class.

So, let’s check out the remaining five-star players who are priority targets for Georgia’s coaching staff.

Manchester, GA. DL. Justus Terry. . Justus Terry (National ranking: 12). player. 6'5" 275 lbs. 527. . Justus Terry (National ranking: 12)

After de-committing from USC back in June, Terry is expected to flip his commitment to his hometown Bulldogs.

OT. player. David Sanders Jr. (No. 3). David Sanders Jr. (No. 3). 527. 6'6" 290 lbs. . Charlotte, NC. David Sanders Jr..

Sanders is expected to announce his commitment to Clemson at some point this summer and is the most likely five-star priority recruit to slip through Smart’s fingers. He is the No. 1 offensive line prospect in the country and only ranks behind quarterbacks Bryce Underwood and Taven St. Clair.

DJ Pickett (No. 9). . DJ Pickett (No. 9). DJ Pickett. player. 527. . 6'4" 178 lbs. Tampa, FL. DB

Some recruiting sites list Pickett as a safety and others as a cornerback, but they all rate him highly. Pickett visited Athens on June 7 and has since gone to Miami and Oregon. LSU and Clemson are also in the mix for the lanky defensive back.

. 6'6" 235 lbs. Jared Smith (No. 19). 527. Jared Smith. player. . Alabaster, AL. Jared Smith (No. 19). EDGE

While he’s a composite four-star, 247Sports loves Smith’s ability as an extremely long edge rusher. Georgia prioritizes size, length, and speed above all else on defense, and Smith checks all of those boxes. USC Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida State are all still in the mix.

Las Vegas, NV. Derek Meadows (No. 32). WR. . . Derek Meadows (No. 32). 527. Derek Meadows. 6'5" 200 lbs. player

Georgia’s 2025 class already includes four wide receivers, so Meadows’ recruitment has cooled a bit. 247Sports predicts that the 6-foot-5 wideout will commit to Notre Dame, though Georgia is still in the mix after his June 7, official visit.

. 527. Elijah Griffin. DL. player. Savannah, GA. Elijah Griffin (No. 8). Elijah Griffin (No. 8). . 6'5" 285 lbs

Elijah Griffin is a unique case because the in-state product didn’t take an official visit to Athens. Instead, he came to Georgia unofficially. While that could sound like discouraging news for the Bulldog’s chances of landing the disruptive defensive tackle, Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports placed a crystal ball prediction for the team to land Griffin’s commitment.

With his unique combination of size and speed, he perfectly fits the mold of elite athletes that Smart routinely recruits on his defensive front.
