For the third season in a row, Georgia football is predicted to finish first in the SEC according to the SEC Preseason Media Polls. Not only was Georgia predicted to finish first, but they were selected by over 75% of the voters to finish first in the conference.

The polls come right off the heels of SEC Media Days where each team had the chance to bring players and coaches to talk about the upcoming season.

The Bulldogs are coming off a season where they missed the College Football Playoff after losing to Alabama in the SEC Championship. They will also be without star tight end Brock Bowers who made his way to the NFL after being selected by the Raiders in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Georgia received 165 first-place votes which was 77.5% of the first place votes placed. They are joined by three other returning teams in the SEC with Alabama coming in third, Ole Miss in fourth, and LSU in fifth. One newcomer broke into the top five with Texas projected to finish second in their first year in the conference.

The Bulldogs have a chance to join the history books as the team selected to finish first in the conference has only won the SEC Championship nine times since 1992.

Georgia's offense is set to have a bigger year this season with the return of Carson Beck as quarterback and running back Trevor Etienne. The defense is always Georgia's strongest aspect with the defensive mind of head coach Kirby Smart.
