Ranking every Georgia football offensive coordinator of the last 25 years
While James Coley's solo tenure was fairly forgettable, when he was paired with Jim Chaney, the Georgia offense actually looked good.
Coley and Chaney took over the offense in 2016, brought on by then-new head coach, Kirby Smart. This was Smart's first time hiring coordinators and assistant coaches, so we'll give him the benefit of a learning curve. And, considering the results, he actually made a decent hire here.
The co-offensive coordinators were coming into what was supposed to be a bevy of talented quarterbacks. But but between injuries, transfers, and guys who simply didn't pan out, most of their time was spent teaching Jake Fromm to run the offense.
With two appearances in the SEC Championship Game, one conference title, and a near-national championship, it's hard to argue that Coley and Chaney weren't that bad.
