Georgia made a big statement with its 34-3 Week 1 win over Clemson, not just to the rest of the college football world, but to the top high schoolers in the country. Now, five high school recruits will be on the sidelines in Week 2 at Sanford Stadium as Georgia takes on Tennessee Tech, including the younger brother of a current NFL superstar who played for Smart at Alabama.

Kirby Smart likely isn’t done with his 2025 recruiting class, which ranks No. 4 in the country with 22 commitments. However, the most recent 2025 commitment is four-star cornerback Jontae Gilbert who committed back on August 10, and now, he’s turning much of his attention to 2026.

So far, Georgia has landed three 2026 commitments, headlined by quarterback Jared Curtis, and none in 2027. After a blowout win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday, those numbers could increase. Here are the five players who are reportedly heading to Athens this weekend.

  • Justice Fitzpatrick, CB, Fort Lauderdale, FL: 4-star (2026)
  • Nasir McCoy, CB, Buford, GA: 4-star (2026)
  • Rodney Colton Jr. LB, Newman, GA: 4-star (2026) (South Carolina commit)
  • Chase Linton, DL, Atlanta, GA: 4-star (2025)
  • CJ Wiley, WR, Alpharetta, GA: 4-star (2025) (Florida State commit)

Justice Fitzpatrick is the younger brother of former Alabama star defensive back and current Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Justice is the No. 35 player nationally in the 2026 recruiting and it appears that his older brother’s former defensive coordinator from Minkah’s freshman year in Tuscaloosa has caught his attention.

In the 2025 class, Chase Linton is predicted to commit to Georgia and could make that decision soon. Wiley, however, may be rethinking his FSU commitment after Mike Norvell’s team started 0-2 with losses to Georgia Tech and Boston College.
