The first round games of the College Football Playoff are officially behind us, and while the atmospheres were a site to see, the games did not live up to the hype. All four games were won by the home team, and they all covered the spread set by Vegas as well.
Hopefully the next set of games in a week will be a lot more exciting, because the college football world is in desperate need of an exciting game or two in this year's playoff.
But before these games get here, it is time to power rank the eight remaining teams and discuss which teams have the best chance of winning the first 12-team College Football Playoff.
1. Oregon Ducks
The top team has to be the Oregon Ducks after their perfect 13-0 Big Ten Championship season. The Ducks are the only undefeated team in college football, so respect has to be given to them until they lose.
Oregon is one of the four teams who earned a first round bye, so the college football world hasn't gotten a chance to see how they'll do on the biggest stage yet. But everyone will get to see how great this Oregon team really is as they take on Ohio State at the Rose bowl in a rematch from earlier this season.
Oregon won the first meeting between these teams, but it was only by one point and at home. Everyone knows how difficult it is to beat the same twice, and Vegas seems to recognize that as well as the Buckeyes are currently a 2.5 point favorite.
But Oregon deserves to be at the top spot until they lose, so it will be interesting to see if they can get by Ohio State again when most people are picking the Buckeyes.
