NIL has transformed everything we know about college football. Ever since NIL was allowed beginning in 2021, college football has changed forever, so much so that someone from five years ago would not even recognize the sport we see today.
But in today's day and age it's all about adapting and surviving. And no team has done that better than Georgia football.
Since NIL began in July of 2021, Georgia has won two National Championships and two SEC Championships. No other team in the country even comes close to that resume. So it'd be a safe assumption that Georgia is one of the leaders when it comes to NIL, because how else would they be able to keep winning at the level they are and continue to sign some of the best high school and transfer portal recruiting classes?
Recent data backs this assumption up as the latest NCAA estimates shows that UGA is at the top of the college football world when it comes to total NIL Collecting funding.
Georgia is No. 4 in the country in NIL funding
According to the NCAA's estimates shared by Brad Crawford of 247Sports, Georgia is the No. 4 program in the country when it comes to their NIL Collective funds. They also come in at No. 3 in the SEC, but the numbers are so close to each other that Georgia is essentially at the top of the country when it comes to NIL.
So hopefully Kirby Smart and Georgia are able to continue to use this to their advantage, becuase if Georgia continues to win on the fied then they are going to continue to be unstoppable in college football. Because what recruit wouldn't want to play for a team where they win a lot and can be compensated very well at the same time?
