Ever since Kirby Smart was hired as Georgia football’s head coach, the Bulldogs have been one of the best programs in the country. In fact, Alabama is really the only program with a legitimate argument of being a better program since Smart was hired in 2016.
Outside of Alabama however, there are a few schools in the SEC who like to try and compare themselves to Georgia. Those teams are Tennessee, Florida and Auburn.
Two of those schools are direct rivals of Georgia and will never want to admit how much better Georgia is than them. Then there’s Tennessee who likes to act like they’re one of the top programs in the conference even though they have zero success to back it up.
But to prove how dominant Georgia actually is over all three programs, let’s look at the series history during Smart’s tenure against all three schools and compare their track record on the recruiting trail as well.
Georgia’s on field results against all 3 programs screams dominance
Georgia has been so dominant over all three schools on the field during Smart’s tenure that there hasn’t even been many losses to report. Florida is the only school to have beaten Georgia twice during Smart’s career, but they’ve failed to do so the last four seasons.
Auburn and Tennessee on the other hand have only beaten Smart once and are both riding an eight game losing streak to Georgia.
So none of these programs really have any comparison they can make when it comes to their matchups on the field with Georgia. But to further cement Georgia’s dominance over all three schools, let’s take a look at the below social media post showing all four programs success recruiting five-star prospects since 2016.
Georgia signs twice as many 5-stars as these programs combined
Since Smart took over as head coach, Georgia has signed a whopping 39 five-star recruits. This is such a large number that almost no program can keep up, but surely these three schools combined together should be close to that total, right?
Wrong. Florida, Tennessee and Auburn have combined to sign only 17 five-star recruits since Smart became Georgia’s head coach.
#Georgia ever since Kirby Smart was hired in 2016 have more than double the 5-star signees than Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee combined. 🤯🐶

So not only has Georgia tormented all three programs on the field during Smart’s tenure, but they can’t even keep up in recruiting either. So in all likelihood, Georgia’s dominance over all three schools won’t be coming to an end anytime soon.
