Another game, another wire-to-wire victory for Georgia basketball. This time it was against the feisty South Carolina Gamecocks at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC.

Georgia (19-11, 7-10 SEC) earned its second SEC road win of the season with a 73-64 win Tuesday night. For the third consecutive game, Georgia would jump out to an early lead against its opponent that would go on to help them set the tone for the remainder of the contest. Playing from in front seems to be the right recipe for success for Mike White and his Bulldogs squad.

South Carolina (12-18, 2-15 SEC) would battle back several times in this contest, even bringing Georgia’s lead down to as little as two points midway through the second half, but Georgia never hit the panic button. They looked like an aged, tested team and answered every Gamecock run with a flurry of its own.

Reigning SEC Player of the Week Silas Demary Jr. would pace the Bulldogs again in points with 16, to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. Demary’s backcourt teammate Blue Cain would add 15 points of his, including two clutch back-to-back three-pointers that would squash a late South Carolina run in the second half.

Freshman sensation Asa Newell would chip in with a modest game by his own standard with 11 points and two rebounds.
