Georgia football is after so much talent in the 2026 recruiting class that it is becoming difficult to keep track of. And while it really is impossible to know every single recruit that UGA is after, some names stand out more than others and are much easier to follow.

And whenever Georgia is aggressively pursuing the No. 1 overall player in the country, you better believe that is a recruitment every Georgia fan will want to pay close attention to.

5-star OT Jackson Cantwell

Jackson Cantwell is a five-star offensive tackle from Nixa, MO. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Cantwell is the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2026 class. That obviously makes him the top ranked offensive tackle and No. 1 player from his home state of Missouri as well.

As one would assume with any player who is No. 1 in the country, the competition for him is fierce. Cantwell is reportedly welcoming in coaches from across the country to his home for visits, and that includes Georgia. Kirby Smart as well as offensive line coach Stacy Searels traveled together to visit Cantwell on Monday. But this isn't the only time that a coach has traveled to Missouri to visit Cantwell.

According to Jed May with Rivals, Searels also visited Cantwell on Jan. 17 as well

This will be one of the most difficult recruitments for Georgia to win, but so far there is no clear leader in Cantwell's recruitment which is a good sign for Georgia. 247Sports has Missouri as the only "warm" team on his profile, but that doesn't tell us too much about where he even stands with the Tigers.

So stay tuned and pay close attention to this recruitment, because it will be difficult for Georgia to get an official visit out of Cantwell let alone win this recruitment. But the next step is to bring Cantwell on campus for a visit, so hopefully Smart and his staff are able to pull that off.
