Every season in the NFL there are a few Georgia rookies who come out of nowhere and receive more playing time than anyone ever expected in their first year. Sometimes there are even some Bulldogs who surprise everyone and immediately become a starter upon their arrival in the NFL as well.

One Bulldog who appears to be accomplishing just that with the Cincinnati Bengals is offensive lineman Dylan Fairchild.

Fairchild was drafted by the Bengals in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft with the 81st overall pick. No one was surprised to see him get drafted, but no one expected Fairchild to be taken this early. The Bengals however clearly saw something in Fairchild that they loved, so they couldn't risk passing on him and having another team take him before they could.

Fast forward to the NFL preseason and Fairchild so far has proven the Bengals right as he has been one of the highest graded offensive lineman in the NFL throughout the preseason, according to PFF.

Dylan Fairchild's arrival in Cincinnati will be well received by Pro Bowl QB

Cincinnati has been blessed with Pro Bowl QB Joe Burrow who everyone knows has been one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL since his arrival from LSU. Burrow has impressed everyone in the NFL throughout his entire career, but the thing holding him and the Bengals offense back is poor offensive line play.

Burrow has been able to overcome this inconsistent play from his offensive line and even led the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance, but there's no denying how much better he and Cincinnati could be if they had good offensive line play.

The hope for Fairchild is that he will be able to immediately help improve Cincinnati's offensive line play so Burrow and the Bengals offense can finally reach their potential. And so far it appears Fairchild is well on his way to accomplishing just that as a rookie this season.
