Georgia made three big hires this offseason as they added new assistant coaches to their coaching staff on both sides of the ball. This is always a really exciting time because it is fun to see how these coaches interact with the team and how much of an impact they will make.

These new hires have varying levels of responsibility this season, and their salaries for the upcoming season reflect that. And while these hires have been official for a few weeks now, their salaries for the 2026 season have just been released to the public.

“Dawgs247 has obtained salary information via an open records request,” Jordan Hill said via 247sports.com. “Per UGA, offensive line coach Phil Rauscher will make $650,000 in 2026 and outside linebackers coach Larry Knight will make $400,000. On the support staff side, assistant running backs coach Robert Edwards will make $90,000.”

Kirby Smart could be next in line for a raise

Salaries are always fun to look at in sports. It’s not often that regular people know how much money others make, but when it comes to coaches and professional athletes that information is typically public.

Smart is set to make $13 million this season which makes him one of the highest paid coaches in all of college football. He however is no longer the highest paid coach in the sport though as Indiana’s Curt Cignetti just passed him last week.

Smart has had a lot more success as a head coach than Cignetti, so he absolutely deserves to be paid more than him. So typically when a coach surpasses Smart he will get a raise, so it could just be a matter of time until that happens.

Regardless of what happens with Smart, Georgia’s coaching staff and salaries are now set for the 2026 season. So the only thing that matters now is getting the team ready to play to try and win a third straight SEC title and make a deeper run in the College Football Playoff.
