Kenny McIntosh played a huge role on Georgia’s two National Championship teams. He was solid backup in 2021, but in 2022 he exploded for 829 yards and 10 yards.
McIntosh was then drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2023 NFL Draft, but that is where his career started going downhill. It wasn't because of anything he did though, but he suffered multiple injuries which included a nasty ACL tear during the 2025 offseason which kept him sidelined all season.
Fast forward to this week and the Seahawks decided to waive him even though he was getting closer to making a return.

Seattle made a huge mistake by waiving McIntosh. He only had one year left on his rookie contract, so it doesn't seem right to waive him at this point right before the season is about to begin. That could make it difficult for him to find another team, so it's a shame that they are putting him in this position.
On top of that, Seattle just put fellow running back Zach Charbonnet on an injury list last week, so they are quickly running out of running backs for this upcoming season.
It was unclear if McIntosh was going to be ready by week one, but he was expected to be healthy enough to play at some point this season. That unfortunately will not be happening with Seattle, but there's a chance another team will pick him up.

McIntosh will now hit the waivers where another team will be able to pick him up. This however would come with a big risk because of how injury prone he's been during his NFL career.
So far in his career he has only recorded 31 carries for 171 yards. He also has three receptions for 22 receiving yards, but so far he has been unable to find the end zone.
So not only does he not have any NFL tape for other teams to look at, but they will also be really scared of his injury history as well. He not only has suffered multiple injuries in his career already, but he also is coming off a horrific injury last season.
McIntosh is still young though. He also still has some good tape from his time at Georgia, so at least one team will more than likely give him a chance. But time is running out for him to stick on an NFL roster, and all it might take is one more serious injury for his career to come to an unfortunate end before it ever really began.
