The spring transfer portal window is officially behind the SEC and all 16 teams have gone threw their grueling spring practice schedules as well. So that means every team, player, coach and fan have the long summer months to get through before the 2025 season begins at the end of August.
But August really isn't that far away, so that means it's time to take a look at all 16 SEC teams and project how the season will go. The best way to do that is by power ranking all 16 teams, beginning with the team that is most likely to finish last in the conference and ending with the favorite to hoist the SEC Championship trophy in Atlanta at the end of the season.
16. Mississippi State Bulldogs
Top Transfers: QB Luke Kromenhoek, RB Fluff Bothwell, CB Dwight Lewis III
Biggest Losses: WR Kevin Coleman Jr., WR Mario Craver, CB Khamauri Rogers
Nobody knows what Mississippi State wil do this season. Unfortunately the most likely outcome is that they are the worst team in the SEC just like last season.
The Bulldogs do return quarterback Blake Shapen this fall, but after going winless during conference play that might not be a good thing.
Mississippi State at the very least is trying to get better as they were the most active SEC team in the portal this offseason. They didn't really have much of a choice after last year, but at least they are giving it their best effort. It'd be shocking if the Bulldogs went winless again this year, but it'd be equally as surprising if they won more than one game.
