This week's results: 88-68 win @ South Carolina, 94-88 win @ Texas A&M
While Auburn struggled to beat a lowly South Carolina team this past week, Alabama did not. They absolutely destroyed the Gamecocks on the road while also coming up with a stellar six point win at Texas A&M.
These two wins, along with some losses from a few SEC teams, allowed Alabama to slide up two spots in this week's power rankings.
The Tide have one of the best resumes in the SEC this season, one that is very comparable to Auburn. Auburn still deserves the top spot, but after this week's results the gap between them and Alabama is much closer than it's been in the past.
Alabama has another tough week in front of them as they host a hot Ole Miss team on Tuesday in a battle between two of the three undefeated teams in SEC play before traveling to Kentucky for a potential top 10 showdown. Going 2-0 this week will be tough, but if they do so then the Tide may have an argument to take the top spot from Auburn in these next week's rankings.
