The SEC has announced that they will be shifting to a 9-game conference schedule beginning next year in 2026. On top of that, the SEC also shared that each team will play the same three opponents every year to help keep rivalries in tact.

The conference has not announced who Georgia's three annual opponents will be, but there are a few teams that the SEC has to keep on Georgia's schedule every season. But the conference will have to select one unfortunate team that isn't Georgia's rival but will have to line up and likely lose to UGA every season.

3 future Bulldogs SEC rivals

Florida Gators

Georgia's first choice for an annual rival is quite simple. The Bulldogs absolutely hate everything to do with Florida, and the Gators feel the exact same way about Georgia, so it would be a crime to not have these two teams play every season.

This game is also one of the few SEC matchups that is played at a neutral site every season, so keeping that tradition in tact would be good for the conference as well. So the SEC has to do the right thing and have Georgia and Florida play each other every year.

Auburn Tigers

On a similar note as Florida, Georgia also needs to play Auburn every season as well. The Tigers are the only other true SEC rival that UGA has, so this is another game that the conference needs to keep in tact.

This game is a little different from UGA's matchup with Florida because it is played on campus every season. So it would be nice for Georgia to be able to retain their one SEC rivalry that fans can experience in Sanford Stadium every other year.

Kentucky Wildcats

The third and final selection for Georgia is a little more difficult because they don't have any true rivals remaining that they would need to keep playing every season. Some Georgia fans may want Alabama or Texas to be the third and final selection, but the SEC did say they are giong to try and keep these rivalries balanced among every SEC program. So it is more likely for Georgia to have a bottom feeder program as their third and final annual rivalry.

That leaves a few options for Georgia, but Kentucky would be a great choice since there is a lot of history between the two programs. That history is dominated by Georgia, but these two teams played every year in the SEC East for a long time, so it would make sense to have them continue playing every season going forward.
