Georgia fans may be disappointed to learn that several Bulldog favorites who made it to the NFL are unable to play this week due to injuries. Even though they are on different teams and even opponents on the field at times, once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.
Here are some key players affected by injuries.
4 NFL Bulldogs currently injured
Linebacker Roquan Smith is out for the Baltimore Ravens with a hamstring injury that could prevent him from playing for a few weeks. As a leader on the defensive side of the ball, Smith's absence is deeply felt by the faltering Ravens this season.
Fan-favorite Brock Bowers still remains unable to practice with a persistent knee injury. Raiders Coach Carroll chose to rest Bowers this week to allow more time for full recovery for their star tight end.
Two other key players missing playing time this week are Travon Walker (Jaguars) and Jalen Carter (Eagles). Walker's wrist injury has plagued him and he must continue to sit out. Carter on the other hand has a heel injury and is still dealing with a shoulder injury from earlier this season. But there is a spot of good news regarding Carter's teammate Nakobe Dean.
Nakobe Dean returned to play for the Philadelphia Eagles
After missing part of the postseason and the five games of the 2025 season, Dean debuted against the New York Giants on Thursday night. Despite limited play in the loss, Dean seeks to return to form and build on last season's 128 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. Commenting to Yahoo Sports when returning to practice last week, Dean said, "It just felt great to be back running around doing the plays. Just playing football again.”
How soon any of these great Georgia Bulldog players will return to elite form is up to them and their training staffs, but fans of the Red and Black can cheer them on in their recovery and return to NFL competition soon.
