All of Georgia's attention is on the Transfer Portal right now. That however could be a big problem when it comes to their 2027 recruiting class.
Georgia already has one of the top 2027 classes in the country, but their class unfortunately got a little worse as offensive lineman Kyson Mallard announced his decommitment from the program on Tuesday.

Georgia loses 3-star OL when no one was paying attention
Mallard is a three-star offensive lineman and the No. 438 overall player in the country, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He also is the No. 27 offensive lineman in the 2027 class and the No. 46 player from the state of Georgia.
Mallard clearly isn't one of the highest ranked recruits that has ever committed to Georgia, but he is still someone Kirby Smart and his staff wanted. He originally committed to Georgia on Sep. 27, but seemingly out of nowhere he announced his decommitment on Tuesday.
It's unclear why he made this decision, but it does look like Florida State could be a big reason why. Mallard visiting the Seminoles right before he committed to Georgia in September, and then he made a second trip during the season as well. So while he hasn't come out and said Florida State is a major player in his recruitment, it looks like that is potentially the case.
Losing Mallard at this point in the recruiting cycle isn't that bad though. Sure Georgia never wants to lose any of their commits, but he wasn't ranked that high and UGA has plenty of time to find a replacement.
Georgia still has five players committed to their 2027 class which is ranked No. 8 in the country. It isn't likely that they will add many more players in the coming months, but once summer hits it will be go time for Georgia and this recruiting class.
