It may still seem like quite some time from now, but Georgia football's official visit season is quickly approaching. Official visits are the time when players make their way across the country and visit the schools they are most interested in. They also get to make these visits without having to pay a dollar because the school they are visiting is able to pay for everything which is not the case with unofficial visits.
The official visit season in college football typically takes place during the month of June with big recruiting events occurring over every weekend that month. That will remain the same again this year as Kirby Smart and his staff will begin welcoming top recruits from all over the country beginning on the weekend of May 30.
Plenty of players have already announced that they will be making an official visit to Athens, and those announcements will continue throughout the rest of the year until we get to June. But eight elite players recently announced their intentions of officially visiting Georgia later this summer, and these eight players are all very solid recruits.
8 official visits recently scheduled to Georgia
4-star OT Graham Houston - June 6-8
4-star OL Breck Kolojay - June 13-15
4-star WR Rodney Dubar - June 6-8
4-star CB Caden Harris - June 6-8
3-star IOL Desmond Green - May 30 - June 1
4-star DL Bryce Perry-Wright - June 6-8
4-star OT Brandon Anderson - May 30 - June 1
5-star TE Kaiden Prothro - May 30 - June 1
Georgia will end up bringing in a large amount of recruits to Athens each weekend during June, but unfortunately not every player wil end up committing to Georgia. There will however be a fair amount of players that do commit to Georgia, including some that will do so directly after this visit.
So if you are going to pay close attention to any recruiting event this offseason, official visit season is the time to do so. Reason being is that these recruits visiting are the ones Georgia is most interested in who also have mutual interest in UGA as well. And the best part of all is that Georgia will likely earn a lot of commitments throughout the month as well.
