Star Texas LB proves why Georgia has major advantage over Longhorns this season

No wonder Texas lost to Georgia twice last season.

Georgia football owns Texas. 2024 was the first season that the Longhorns were in the SEC and the Bulldogs beat them twice. Not only did Georgia beat Texas twice, but they beat them on the road when they were the No. 1 team in the country and in the SEC Championship game.

It's impossible to have two greater wins against one team in a single season, so the Bulldogs have all the bragging rights against the Longhorns right now.

One would assume that these two losses would make Texas as motivated as possible to beat Georgia in Athens this season. That however is not the case because linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., who likely will be a captain for Texas this season, said the Georgia game is not even circled on their schedule this season.

Texas LB isn't giving any attention to Georgia

Two of the games that Hill has circled on the schedule this season make a lot of sense. Any Longhorn should look forward to playing their biggest rival Oklahoma more than any other school. Hill also said he has their season opener at Ohio State circled on the schedule as well. The Buckeyes are at least on the same level as Georgia, so seeing Ohio State listed before Georgia isn't a big deal either.

But the other two teams Hill listed are laughable.

Hill mentioned Florida as a team he is really looking forward to playing this season, which feels like a very random team to pick. But the last team he mentioned was Vanderbilt, the worst program in the SEC.

Is a Texas player actually looking forward to playing Vanderbilt more than attempting to get their revenge against the team that beat them twice last season? It feels like this has to be a joke, but this is what Hill said and he isn't backing down from his opinion.

Texas not circling the Georgia game on their calendar however should be just fine with UGA though. Georgia will be taking this game seriously like they do with every big game, so if Texas chooses not to match that energy then the Bulldogs should expect to walk away with another victory over the Longhorns just like last season.
