Georgia football enters the 2025 season with some serious question marks surrounding their team. The Bulldogs biggest question is at the quarterback position, where UGA will have to start a new quarterback after Carson Beck left town for Miami.

Georgia also has to replace countless players who left for the NFL and entered the transfer portal as well.

While those are all valid concerns, there is one thing that is especially on Georgia’s side entering the 2025 season.

Georgia’s blue-chip ratio will give them a chance to win a national title

Could it be the $15 million designated for NIL? Or the seven home games loaded with top 10 teams? How about the percentage of blue-chip recruits?

According to CBS Sports, teams with high blue-chip ratios have won the last seven national championships.

• 2024 National Champion Ohio State: Had a 90% blue-chip ratio.

• 2023 National Champion Michigan: Had a 54% blue-chip ratio,

• 2022 National Champion Georgia: Had a 77% blue-chip ratio.

• 2021 National Champion Georgia: Had an 80% blue-chip ratio.

• 2020 National Champion Alabama: Had an 83% blue-chip ratio.

• 2019 National Champion LSU: Had a 64% blue-chip ratio.

• 2018 National Champion Clemson: Had a 68% blue-chip ratio

Georgia is in position to continue this trend

Having a deep roster of very talented players clearly gives Kirby Smart more good options in case of injuries or transfers that sideline many other teams. That is why the data shows that the teams winning National Championship typically have a higher blue-chip ratio. So, where does Georgia stand heading into the 2025 season?

The 2025 Georgia football team has a whopping 85 percent blue-chip ratio entering the regular season this fall.

With the momentum of an SEC championship, the Bulldogs enter the regular season with a very difficult schedule, but their roster packed with blue-chip athletes will give them a chance to add some championship bling this year.
