When the Texas Longhorns joined the SEC last season, there were a lot of questions as to how good they would really be when it came to college football. Well, the fact that they made it to the SEC Championship says a lot about the program, but losing to Georgia twice in one season says even more.
For a rivalry to really be a rivalry, both teams have to have a win in the series, which in this case, Georgia has beaten Texas both times since joining the SEC. However, some would argue there are different ways to win, like on the recruiting trail. Texas and Georgia have been battling out for recruits all summer long, and both have won and lost some battles.
So when it comes to Georgia and Texas, some may say the rivalry is still brewing, while others believe it is already rearing its ugly head.
Texas insider CJ Vogel made a comment about the Texas and Georgia rivalry, and based on things said on his own media posts, he believes the rivalry is already there and growing.
"We talk about Georgia vs. Texas rivalry and what it needs to get to that level," Vogel said. "I think it's there. The outrage that I've seen personally in my mentions has been rather ridiculous.

Texas has to show it can sustain the success, however, for this rivalry to continue to grow. The Longhorns have not always been the most consistently amazing football team, like the Georgia Bulldogs have been for the last almost 10 years.
Texas will also need to win a few of the games on the field to really cement this rivalry as real, because if Georgia keeps winning all the time, then we could have a very one-sided series here. The Bulldogs and Longhorns could be one of the fiercest rivals in the SEC if both continue their upward trajectory.
