Georgia fans have a good amount of time to wait until the Bulldogs first College Football Playoff game. The Bulldogs will play the winner of the first round matchup between Ole Miss and Tulane on Jan. 1, so fans will have to wait about a month before Georgia's run at a national title begins.
Georgia fans obviously will have their eyes glued to their TVs on Dac. 20 when the Rebels and Tulane square off, but there are a lot of other intriguing matchups they will want to watch as well. And potentially the next game Georgia fans will care the most about is when Carson Beck and Miami travel to Texas A&M.
This not only will be a highly competitive game featuring a former UGA quarterback, but there is a weird quirk occurring that will make Georgia fans roll their eyes.
Carson Beck, Miami get to experience a road game at Texas A&M before Georgia
Texas A&M joined the SEC in 2012. In the 13 years they have been in the conference Georgia has only played them once with that game occurring in Athens in 2019. This means Georgia has not played at Texas A&M since the Aggies joined the SEC. In fact, in the six game history between these two programs Georgia has never played at A&M.
This has made a lot of Georgia fans annoyed because they want the chance to experience a road game at College Station which is known for having one of the best atmospheres in all of college football. What's a little ironic about all of this though is that Beck will get a chance to play at Texas A&M in the CFP this season before Georgia ever gets to make a trip there.
Georgia is schedule to play at Texas A&M in 2027, so UGA will get to experience that road trip for the first time in two years. But the irony in Beck making that trip before Georgia is impossible to not be a little annoyed at.
