The SEC is doing everything they can to give Auburn the best chance possible to upset Georgia this season.

This may seem like a wild claim to make because why would the SEC ever feel the need to try and impact the outcome of games? But in reality the SEC for some reason has taken control of this game in an effort to give Auburn the best chance to pull out a win against Georgia.

Favorable schedule for Auburn

The biggest way the SEC is benefitting Auburn in this game is by giving them a bye week before they play Georgia. This will give Auburn a chance to get as healthy as possible going into this game while also having an entire extra week to prepare for Georgia.

On the other hand, the Bulldogs don’t have a bye week before this game. Georgia takes on Kentucky the week before their matchup with Auburn, which to be fair is a very easy game, but it’s not nearly as easy as having a bye week beforehand.

Night game at Auburn

Auburn can have a very intimidating home atmosphere, but that typically only occurs for big games under the lights. If this game was during the day then the atmosphere at Auburn’s stadium wouldn’t be anything to worry about. That however isn’t the case this season.

An exact time for this game is still unknown, but it has been confirmed to be a night game. This will give Auburn a huge advantage because their fans will be rowdy and ready to do anything they can to help Auburn pull off this upset.

It has been eight years since Auburn last beat Georgia, so there really isn’t a better narrative for the SEC then to have them pull off this upset against the reigning SEC Champions. So that is likely why the conference gave Auburn a favorable schedule before this game while also making it a night game.
