Tim Brando throws Kirby Smart under the bus over the Georgia-Auburn drama

With their powers combined, Tim Brando and Booger McFarland will not let their respective college football employers get in the way of being totally wrong on something that does not even really matter any more. If Auburn wanted to beat Georgia, it would have beaten Georgia, as opposed to curling up into a ball and sucking on its thumb like a scared child in the second half of the ballgame.

Brando and McFarland have been at this for too long for us to think this is anything more than some empty-calorie nonsense fake contrarian outcry of a schtick. The ball moved before it cross the goal line. Jackson Arnold lost possession of it. The evidence was clear that Georgia forced a fumble of Auburn at the goal line. Rather than try to admit being wrong for once, Brando is pointing the finger.

Brando has officially anointed Kirby Smart as the new king of everything must go his way in the SEC.

Even if Brando was right, he has cried wolf so many times before over other trivial college football nonsense than few enthusiasts even respect him any more. He was taking more L's in the comments of this quote tweet from Power of Dixieland than Luke Fickell ever could leading the Wisconsin Badgers. Misery loves company, so this has to be right up Brando's alley. The game ended days ago.

In a way, Brando calling out Smart with the help of McFarland proves a greater point about Smart...

Tim Brando's disdain for Kirby Smart is proof he is CFB's best head coach

This may not seem like much, but what Brando may be trying to say here is Smart impacts the game he is coaching in almost to the level his mentor Nick Saban did. Saban would get in the heads of the officials and the opposing coaches on the sidelines. Admittedly, this was a horribly officiated game. Georgia might have won in the end, but it was a horrible day for this particular SEC officiating crew.

Overall, Smart is proving that he can beat just about anyone he goes up against. He may be 0-2 against Kalen DeBoer, but that might be the Alabama of it all, to be totally honest. In a way, Saturday night felt like a game where Smart woke up and decided not to respect Hugh Freeze any more. Smart played at Georgia, so not having a ton of respect for Auburn is just par for the course for this Bulldog.

Ultimately, it has become painfully clear that the only people still up in arms about this call are Auburn fans, Brando, maybe McFarland, and that is it. This is a game that ended nearly three days ago. Once again, Auburn is letting the previous game impact them into their current one. If the Tigers really wanted to beat Georgia, it should not have put forth an effort like it did in the second half on Saturday.

Even if Auburn did score that touchdown, Georgia put up 20 points, and Auburn would have had 17...
