Top 5 wins during Kirby Smart's Georgia football tenure
1. National Championship vs Alabama
Was there really any other choice to be the top spot than Smart's first national championship at Georgia? The first title is always the best in my eyes so it probably doesn't matter who it was against, but the fact that it came against Alabama of all teams makes this the best win of his tenure by far. I didn't know if it was possible to beat Alabama before this game, but this win proved to me that anything is possible at Georgia under Smart.
The Bulldogs found themseleves down 9-3 at halftime but then exploded in the second half en route to a 33-18 victory over the Tide.
Stetson Bennett led the way for Georiga by completing 17/26 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns. More importantly though, he did not throw an interception in the biggest game of his career.
Zamir White led the way on the ground for the Bulldogs with 84 yards on 13 carries while finding the endzone once as well. The Georgia defense also deserves a big shoutout because holding Alabama to 18 points in the national championship game during the height of the Tide's dominance is no joke.
This is the game where Smart and Georgia announced to the college football world that they are the top dogs in the country. And that sentiment still holds true to this day nearly three years later.
