Four-star offensive lineman Ekene Ogboko is nearing his final decision, and Georgia is right there in the running for the talented recruit. According to the 247Sports rankings, Ogboko is the No. 40 overall player in the country and the No. 3 overall player from his home state of North Carolina. So it's clear to see how big of a commitment this would be for UGA for their 2026 recruiting class.

Ogboko took his official visit to Georgia two weeks ago, and that visit reportedly went extremely well. His visit went so well that Georgia fans were hoping he would announce his commitment soon because it seems likely that he would pick Georgia over the other schools pursuing him.

Thankfully Ogboko shared on Monday when he plans to commit, and UGA fans won't have to wait much longer to hear his final decision.

Ekene Ogboko could give Georgia good news soon

According to On3, Ogboko will announce his commitment on June 18. Ogboko will be deciding between Georgia, Clemson, Florida and Notre Dame when he makes his commitment.

Ogboko has taken an official visit to Clemson and Florida already, so they are a serious threat to defeat Georgia in this recruitment. Notre Dame however was set to host Ogboko this weekend, so him announcing his commitment before he visits is a bad sign for the Irish.

There are a few reasons for Kirby Smart and Georgia to be hopeful heading into this commitment, with the biggest reason being that On3 recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong predicted Georgia to win this recruitment a few days ago. On top of that, Ogboko's older brother Nnamdi is a current defensive lineman for Georgia as well.

So these two reasons seem good enough for Georgia to take down Clemson, Notre Dame and rival Florida on Wednesday and earn Ogboko's commitment. Obviously things can change very fast in a recruitment, but for now UGA fans should expect to celebrate another commitment on Wednesday when Ogboko announces his final decision.
