Georgia football is ready for the biggest game of the season as No. 17 Alabama strolls into Athens on Saturday looking to knock off the No. 5 Bulldogs. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide are the two best programs in the country, so for that reason alone the entire college football world will be tuning into this game.
And when they do, they will get to listen to the best broadcast crew in the country.
TV, commentators announced for Georgia vs. Alabama
Georgia’s showdown against Alabama is scheduled for 7:30 pm EST on Saturday, Sep. 27. The game will be on ABC with the No. 1 broadcast crew calling the game.
Chris Fowler will lead the crew as the play-by-play announcer with Kirk Herbstreit as the lead analyst. The third member of the crew is Holly Rowe who will be roaming the sidelines throughout the game.
Georgia enters this game off their first bye week of the season after beating Tennessee on the road in overtime two weeks ago. Alabama is also coming off their bye week and a dominant home win against Wisconsin two weeks ago.
The Bulldogs are still undefeated at 3-0, but the Crimson Tide can’t say the same. Alabama sits at 2-1 after losing their season opener at Florida State which was their sixth loss in their last eight road games.
Georgia is a small favorite in this game as FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Bulldogs as 2.5 point favorites as of Tuesday morning. UGA once was favored by as many as 6.5 points a few weeks ago, so Vegas and the betting public have been siding with Alabama over the last few days.
A win in this game would go a long way for both teams, but a victory for Georgia would put them in prime position to make the SEC Championship game and College Football Playoff while also making life extremely difficult for Alabama to accomplish either feat.
