Two Georgia stars were the steals of the third round for the NFC South

Several Georgia Bulldogs found their NFL homes on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Two of them will now become enemies.

In an almost comical sequence of events, two Bulldogs landed in two different spots within the NFC South division. First off the board was tight end Oscar Delp, who was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the third round at pick No. 73.

Just six picks later, wide receiver Zachariah Branch learned he would be staying in-state to play for the Atlanta Falcons.

With these two coming off the board after offensive lineman Monroe Freeling was selected by the Carolina Panthers at No. 19 overall in the first round and defensive lineman Christen Miller was taken at 42nd overall by the Saints in the second round, four total Georgia players have found spots in the NFC South.

Oscar Delp did not put up the flashiest stat line, and that's probably why he was so overlooked by people who did not keep up with his college career consistently. The proof is in the tape, not in the stat line in which he finished his four-season career with 70 receptions for 854 yards and nine touchdowns.

Even though he's not nearly as well known, he has all the potential to take the NFL by storm and become the next Brock Bowers. He learned everything he knows, after all, from the Raiders standout after sitting behind him after arriving in 2022.

Don't be surprised when Delp suddenly becomes a prominent go-to player no one saw coming... the same way he quietly did so for Georgia.

There's a running joke (and certain level of frustration) in the state of Georgia that the Falcons don't select or pay enough attention to the players in Athens.

The Falcons have done a good job of dispelling that by showing up in droves at Georgia Pro Day recently, and expounded upon that by snatching up former Georgia pass-catcher Zachariah Branch on the second day of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Branch will be an asset to the Falcons with his elite speed and play-making ability, even if he is a bit undersized at 5-foot-8 and 177 pounds. He makes up for it though with just how fast he truly is, posting an RAS score of 8.32 out of a possible 10.0.

With two seasons spent at USC and a single year at Georgia, Branch finished out his college career with 1,634 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 159 receptions.
