Georgia football linebacker Chaz Chambliss was one of the top defenders at UGA this past season. In fact, he led Georgia in sacks last season with 6.5 on the year.

No one can deny how important Chambliss was to Georgia last year, but apparently all 32 NFL teams didn't see it the same way. Chambliss went undrafted this year in the 2025 NFL Draft, which came as a big shock because of the productive season he had in 2024.

While this initially was a major setback to his career, the Minnesota Vikings did pick him up immediately after the draft was over. Fast forward to Tuesday when every NFL team had to announce their final 53-man roster, and Chambliss discovered that he officially made the Vikings final roster and will be a part of their team this season.

On top of his 6.5 sacks, Chambliss also finished with 40 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery. Anyone would be happy with these numbers in a league as talented as the SEC, so that's why it was so surprising that he wasn't drafted this summer.

Chambliss however did not let that slow him down as he immeidately went to work and proved why he belongs on the Vikings roster. He may have only racked up nine tackles during Minnesota's preseason games, but he clearly showed enough in these games and at every practice to earn his spot on their roster.

It's unclear what his role will be this season with Minnesota, but the first goal for him was to make their roster. Now that he is on their final roster he can begin working to earn as much playing time as possible. He may not play that much at the start of the season, but no Georgia fan will be shocked if Chambliss is receiving a large amount of snaps by the end of the season.
